Filipina, n. domestic helper.
This is how one foreign dictionary once put us. And suddenly, the PROUDLY PHILIPPINE MADE became PROUDLY PHILIPPINE MAID.
Give us some respect, some politicians immediately shouted while grandstanding how nationalistic they were. And eventually
the definition was pulled back.
The definition was changed, but was respect returned? Probably not. Because respect is not given in a silver platter,
it is earned through sweat, tears and blood. Something we, Filipinos, once were famous for.
Legacy for Life was created within this context. We want us, Filipinos, to gain the respect we once had. To stand tall
amidst the onslaught of foreign strength. And this can only be done by showcasing to the world what we can do, while standing
on our own two feet.
Creativity has always been our strength, and we intend to use it. What better way to maximize it, than to use it to something
we have been famous for - SHOES. Let us rebuild from the ruins of the once powerful Marikina shoes, and show the world the
product of our own sweat, tears, and bllod.
The gauntlet has been thrown. Do you still want to sit on the side, or are you willing to stand by us and take the challenge?
